Enhancing Passenger Flow & Accessibility
Cruise Terminal 6 is undergoing a significant upgrade to improve passenger debarkation efficiency. Currently, passengers moving from the second-floor concourse to the first-floor luggage area rely on two escalators, a central stairway, or a single elevator. During peak debarkation times, elevator bottlenecks can cause congestion and slow the flow of travelers through the terminal.
To address this, a new 8-foot-wide, ADA-compliant debarkation ramp will be constructed, offering a safe, uninterrupted, and efficient pathway for passengers to exit the terminal smoothly.
Project Features:
- Structural Enhancements: 24 helical pile foundations, structural steel framework, and a concrete slab-on-deck design.
- Safety & Security: Railings, emergency egress systems, fire suppression, and security cameras.
- Passenger Comfort: Integrated lighting, HVAC modifications, and an optimized layout for seamless movement.
This improvement will provide a permanent, congestion-free solution that enhances accessibility and ensures a smoother travel experience for all passengers at Cruise Terminal 6.
