Capital Projects Update

2/7/2022
The capital projects at Port Canaveral that were deferred during the cruise shutdown are well underway as we enter 2022. The North Cargo Berth 3 (NCB3) reconstruction project was awarded to RUSH Marine, Inc. in late September and, since then, the project has been moving full steam ahead. Demolition activities have begun on the existing pier and asphalt pavement in order to prepare for the A-frame pile deliveries. Targeted completion date is late April 2023.

Moving west to Cruise Terminal 5, improvements are being made to the mooring dolphins to accommodate larger cruise ships. This project kicked off in May 2021, and since then all steel pipe piles have been installed. Currently the form work is being completed for the mooring dolphin platform and the catwalk piles are being poured. Simultaneously the project’s electrical and IT work are being completed. The project is scheduled for completion in April.

Cruise Terminal 8 is undergoing phase two of landside modifications. Interior finishes are continuing in the newly expanded concierge area, which will provide a total of 2,707 square feet of beautiful space. New low voltage wiring is currently being installed. The project will be completed in March. Our engineering team and their project partners are busy at work envisioning and constructing the future!
